Sports = sportovi
I play sports. = Bavim se sportom.
Note: It‘s not the same when you use this sentence in general and when you use a specific sport.
For example:
soccer, football = fudbal
I play soccer. = Igram fudbal.
This is the contruction that we use for any specific sport.
basketball = košarka
I play basketball. = Ja igram košarku.
You can see here that we use the sufix “u”, because that’s the “akuzativ” case, but this is just a short
vocabulary lesson, so I will not get into that right now. Let’s continue with sports. = hajde da nastavimo sa
sportovima.
tennis = tenis
I play tennis. = Igram tenis.
baseball = bejzbol
Igram bejzbol.
golf = golf
Igram golf.
running = trčanje
I go running. = Idem na trčanje.
volleyball = odbojka
Igram odbojku.
badminton = badminton
Igram badminton.
swimming = plivanje
I go swimming. = Idem na plivanje.
boxing = boks
I box. = Boksujem.
table tennis = stoni tenis
Igram stoni tenis.
skiing = skijanje
I go skiing. = Idem na skijanje.
ice skating = klizanje
I go ice skating. = Idem na klizanje.
karate = karate
I practice karate. = Treniram karate.
I ride a bicycle = vozim bicikl.
rugby = ragbi
Igram ragbi.
ice hokey = hokej na ledu
Igram hokej na ledu.
gymnastics = gimnastika
I do gymnastics. = Treniram gimanstiku.
weight lifting = dizanje tegova
I lift weights. = Dižem tegove.
scuba diving = ronjenje
I scuba dive. = Ronim.
